THE MUSICAL PLAY “LA DOLCE VITA EN EXIL” WILL KICK OFF MONTREAL’S ITALIAN WEEK
This year, Montreal’s Italian Week will start off on Friday, August 9, 2019. The festival will launch its program of events with the musical play “La Dolce Vita en Exil” at the Casa d’Italia at 8pm (Hall of Celebration – 505 rue Jean-Talon Est, Montreal, QC H2R 1T6).
Presented and written by Italian-Montrealer Tina Mancini, this musical play premiered in France. Set in the mid 1950s, “La Dolce Vita en Exil” is a musical celebrating the Italian immigrant’s journey to Canada. It features popular lyrical arias in Italian and Neapolitan while telling a woman’s universal story of adventure, tradition, love and nostalgia.
The play will be presented on Friday, August 9, at 8pm and Sunday, August 11, at 3pm. It has a running time of one hour and it is in Italian and Neapolitan, with some parts in English and French. The cost is $20. Buy your tickets here.
